Ferus' heart-chart

Since I'm now a member of , I figured I should do a few memes about Ferus. [link]

Now Ferus' chart is also color-coded, e.g. a full bar of solid red hearts means she fully trusts and loves that person dearly, but a full bar with red shades in order of lightest to darkest means that even though she is devoted to that person, she doesn't fully trust them. Solid black hearts obviously mean hate, but only grey hearts mean the hate's only temporary or she doesn't totally hate the person and only dislikes them.

Oh and an empty bar next to a name just means that she has had some means of contact with the person, but doesn't know them well enough to decide whether she likes them or not.
Any names not present are people she's not met yet or people that have not approached her or even tried to yet.

Relationship with Lavvy: "I trust you...please don't you hurt me too...I can't take this torment anymore..."
- Because Lavvy has been the first and at the moment the only person to treat Ferus as a human being not as vermin or a disease or a victim, and show genuine concern for her upon first meeting; Ferus has come to trust Lavvy more than anyone else in Harmony and is completely devoted to her...but is still held back by her fear of being rejected and hurt again, so she still cannot fully open up to Lavvy. Ferus has typically done what any sufferer of emotional neglect and or mental abuse does; latched on to the first person to show kindness to her, like a duckling imprinting the first thing it sees when born as its mother. However Ferus' attachment to Lavvy is not all that good, Ferus' fear of rejection and abandonment makes Ferus extremely protective of Lavvy and to some extent even possessive, thus she is prone to becoming jealous of anybody who gets too close to Lavvy for Ferus' comfort, in other words Ferus has developed a 'sister-complex'. But why Ferus insists on calling Lavvy by her surname 'Maruku' instead of just 'Lavvy' or even 'Lavinia' like everybody else is beyond a mystery.

Relationship with Xena: "Cool guitar."
- Ferus is starting to trust Xena a little, even invited Xena to drink with her, so a friendship is starting to form.

Relationship with Sarith: *glares*
- Ferus still hasn't forgiven Sarith for her last prank, and her grudge will probably last for a while, but there's no real resentment here.

Relationship with Cabal: - Not really any progress between the two at the moment, he's just another number to the planet's male-population in Ferus' mind and that's it.

Relationship with Mint: "I owe you..."
- Ferus hates doctors of any kind, but has reluctantly come to accept Mint after learning it was Mint who saved Ferus from dying.

Relationship with Derek: "Sorry about the eye."
- There's not been enough contact between these two for Ferus to decide whether to trust him or not, but has shown some small amount of sympathy for him and seemed both depressed and embarrassed when she accidentally scratched his glass-eye when she tried to pick it up after he dropped it.

Relationship with Blade: "Stay away from my turf. I don't care that you're blind and I don't care how alike we are, if I see you near it again I will slit your throat...
- Blade has become more of a rival for Ferus rather than a real enemy. Their first meeting left a bad impression on both girls. At the moment Ferus hates this Stray-infected with a burning passion for risking her secret garden's safety by almost leading a group of GG soldiers straight to it, and has promised to slice her throat wide open if Blade ever so much as touches the path that leads to the garden again. Shame though, because Blade and Ferus would probably have made a good tag-team if they had met under different and better circumstances.

Relationship with hadrea: "I WON'T go back! And I'll never let you take Maruku away from me!"
- Any enemy of Lavvy's is an enemy of Ferus'. Ferus loathes Hadrea (not as much as Lavvy though) not just because she's an enemy of 'her Maruku' but because Hadrea at one point was hired to try and capture Ferus and return her to the asylum she escaped from. But seriously Ferus' possessiveness of Lavvy and true nature of Ferus' sister-complex really shows here; when confronted with Hadrea, Ferus' first move is to always shield Lavvy and take any blow she can with everything she's got with absolutely no care for her own life, and if there's ever a mission concerning the Tamed Ferus will always follow Lavvy on it even when directly ordered not to. Perhaps she fears Hadrea sending Lavvy to the hell where Ferus escaped from, or maybe she just doesn't like the idea of being lost and all alone again.

Relationship with Rabies: - It's a love/hate relationship; she blames Rabies for most of the shit in her life (the 'voice in her head', the bullying for her teeth, burning down the school, being tortured at the asylum, her insaitable lust etc), but can't help but think of him as a friend or rather a pet as he has always been with her since she was a child...and is reluctant to admit that he has saved her ass from many dangerous situations in the past, and it was because of him that she was finally able to escape from the asylum.

Relationship with normal humans: - Her hatred towards all non-infected humans is so great that it cannot be measured. Period. If you had lived the awful lonely and painful life Ferus has lived, you'd hate the entire human race too. Enough said.

Sharon: "...Are you a virgin?"
- That was the first thing Ferus asked Sharon when she saw Sharon blush at Ferus' story of how she deals with men that piss her off, since then Ferus has become...'interested' in Sharon for she's never met a virgin before (everybody in the savages' gang were either rape-victims or ex-pros) and now finds it a bit fun to tease her a little. For Ferus to actually engage in such a playful banter is extremely rare...Sharon's lucky (I think).

Ivan: "You may have the others fooled...but I'm watching you. I'll be waiting for you, when you sell us out...no matter where you go or where you hide."
- Now that Ferus knows that he has a sister in Tamed and that he's an ex-Tamed himself, Ferus has lost all trust in him (not that she had any for any man anyway) and is just waiting for the chance to gut him like a fish. She dare not try anything now because of Lavvy's orders...but Ferus is convinced that Ivan's tricked everybody into believing his story, well Ferus ain't buying, and now she's watching him like a hawk. Ferus may not give a shit about the war, but she does care about Lavvy and has started to care a little for a few, emphasis on FEW other members, and Ferus is greatly over-protective. Especially if Hadrea is involved. Ferus doesn't care that Ivan's just a kid, Ferus was just a kid too when she was attacked and broken, (nobody cared that Ferus was just a child so why should she care about children now?) age doesn't matter to her; men are men and they're all traitors in her cold, murderous eyes...

Henry Dale Jr. (Ferus' grandfather): "I'm not 'Kady' anymore, I am Ferus now...but you are still very important to me."
- Ferus may not show it (not that anybody can tell anyway with that muzzle constantly hiding most of her face) but she loves her grandfather dearly even after spending fifteen years apart from each other. However Ferus has made it perfectly clear that she is not the innocent and cheerful Cadence Henry once knew; she still will won't speak so freely not even for Henry and still has a phobia of being stared at regardless of her grandfather's kind influence. Ferus naturally feels guilty and ashamed of what she has changed into now, she fears that now Henry is aware of Ferus' hiddeous crimes in the past and what she still does in the present that he'll forsake her and desert her too like the rest of her family, but no matter how strong her bond with her grandfather is...Ferus can't and won't ever turn back into her former self Cadence, she is beyond help and the chances of her changing her silent malicious ways are a billion to one. However when in Henry's presense she will try to control her temper and restrain herself from violence as best as she can, plus she is just as protective of Henry as she is with Lavvy or perhaps more so, so be sure to watch what you say to Henry or about Henry when Ferus is nearby; or else you'll be needing a walking-stick like Henry's by the time Ferus is done with you.

I won't make a heart-chart for Rabies because there's no point; he's just like your typical male dog, loves all the ladies and only hates people who steal his food or disturb his sleep or 'ruin his game' if you know what I mean. So he doesn't have anything special to say about his relationships with anyone...except that he really likes Sharon's cooking.
