My Z-parasite character - Ferus

(Yep, has successfully corrupted me again with her shere awesomeness. XD) This is my latest creation for , who is fully based on Kurokishimon farumir.deviantart.com/art/Kur… only with a different name and minus the digimon-theme.
I recycled some of my past drawings' poses again which you may notice in the Human and Symbiote boxes, and for the Parasitic form, I used a mesonychid picture on google as a reference 4.bp.blogspot.com/_tG7iGI46Vfk… since Andrewsarchus is a particularly hard subject to draw with correct anatomy rather than made-up anatomy, and used a new coloring method from my usual one by combinding copic pens with photoshop.

WARNING: this character has by far the SADDEST background I have EVER written for any of my characters, worse than Atracaedo's and NightShroud's combined, so you may need tissues and those who are sensitive about bullying and street-gangs and mental institutions; please do not read any further for the little evil minions in my head will not be held responsible for any major dehydration and or temporary watery blindness and stuffy noses caused by crying and bawling excessively. Nicknames: Ferus (latin for 'Savage', this is the name she answers to and prefers), Musei (japanese for 'Voiceless' she hates this name), Silent Knight, 'Kady' (this was her 'baby name' when she was a child since she and other children couldn't pronounce Cadence properly)
Age: ??? (exact age is unknown, but she is definitely older than 20, could possibly be 21 or 22 at the least).
Gender: female

Eye anomaly: Normal jade/emerald eyes...but her right eye is much brighter than the left and is quite glazed indicating that she could possibly be partitially blind.
Vein position: around the back of her neck hidden beneath her hair.
Personality: Silent, hardy, unpredictable, Introvert, proud, independent, rebellious, sarcastic, cunning, impatient, sensitive, feral, fierce, cranky, untrusting, cautious, very over-protective and at times possessive, extremely hostile and violent when provoked.

Backstory: Ferus...very few words can describe her. But there is one that does best fit her, or two words even: silent rogue. Because that's what she is. She is a loner, an outcast, who very rarely speaks at all! Even her yawns and coughs are barely audible. The metal muzzle she always wears doesn't help, not only does it make Ferus seem even more intimidating and vicious than what she already is, it hides most of her face just as Ferus hides most of her emotions, making it almost impossible to see how she's feeling (can never tell if she frowning, smirking, snarling, or smiling etc). But her silence is deadly...for she has many secrets and many thoughts hidden inside her which can stir up some trouble is anybody heard them. It is a good thing she is on Harmony's side, because Ferus really lives up to her many titles, Ferus doesn't even need to resort to using her symbiote form to deal with threats half of the time; she just has to show up and challengers already go running for the hills.
Ferus can sometimes be considered as Lavvy's self-proclaimed bodyguard or side-kick, because ever since Ferus came to harmony's base and Lavvy somehow managed to gain the anti-social delinquent Ferus' near-impossible-to-win trust, Ferus has never left Lavvy's side (despite how much their personalities seem to clash), where ever Lavvy goes, Ferus is never too far behind. The only times you won't see them together is when Lavvy is in the gym (for obvious reasons everybody in the Harmony base knows). However Lavvy apears to be the ONLY person Ferus trusts at the moment, as for anybody else around her? Well...until Ferus feels like loosening up a little, it's best to just keep your distance for now. Unless you want to die childless.

Way back before Cadence became Ferus though...Cadence was originally from England until her and her family moved to the city where Harmony was born when she was very little. Cadence was abused and neglected a lot as a youth. When just a toddler, she used to love singing and pretending to be a dragon or a lion etc and so she was very talkative (a huge opposite to what she's like now), but her parents didn't seem to tolerate children making noise and she was often scolded for 'making a racket' when her mother was watching TV or talking on the phone...but Cadence's father was a wife-cheating drunk who hated children and yelled at Cadence every time she did make any noise, at school it was no better; teachers would ignore her in class and whenever they did ask her to answer a question she was often laughed at by the students because at this point she had developed a terrible stutter from being too nervous to speak. Plus because she is not native to the area, she can't understand other people's languages or very strong accents very well since her parents never taught her and teachers tended to ignore her...so she learned to never speak ever again.
She was also fat throughout her childhood up to puberty and was bullied horribly for it, but upon puberty she had the biggest bust out of all the girls and became the target of more harrassment from boys wanting to grope them and see them naked and from the other girls who became jealous of her breasts and all the attention she received from boys, and thus the bullying intensified...now, reason for the bandages on her legs? One day in gym class, all the girls got together and jumped her in the gym's equipment closet, ripped her pants off and started whipping her legs viciously with wire they'd taken from the school fence. The whipping was so brutal that it left hiddeous scars all over her thighs which she now hides under bandages. Because of her scars she developed scopophobia (the phobia of being stared at). She can no longer look people in the eye...

That was the final straw for Cadence.

the next night...the entire school set on fire and burnt to the ground. Coincidentally, with all the girls from Gym-class among some other bullies still inside. LOCKED inside. It was definitely the frightening work of arsen...and it didn't take long for rumor to start spreading that Cadence did it, it made sense considering that she was the only one who made it out of the building before the fire even started...but there was never any evidence to prove she had anything to do with it. But ever since then, folk in the neighborhood and the grieving families of the dead children called her Musei; which means voiceless.

Cadence became an outcast so she ran away and became the leader of a vicious street-gang known as The Savages, and this is where Cadence got her new name Ferus. They called her 'The Silent Knight' because she was so quiet that you couldn't even hear her kick the crap out of somebody nor does she give them time to scream. She was so quiet and stealthy that nobody ever sees her coming, making her the perfect assassin.
HOWEVER, her reign of 'silent terror' soon came to an end. She caught the eye of some guy called Chase who followed her everywhere from a distance. They met, she fell in love, and long story short they spent a night together...but then she found out he was the leader of a rival gang who just wanted to be the first man to bang the 'legendary Musei' who burned down an entire school. Ferus was so furious that without thinking she smashed his skull in and killed him with her gang's trademark spiked arm-shield. The loss of her virginity to somebody who tricked her into feeling loved only to laugh at her and betray her so cruelly just for sick fun; was what caused her great hatred towards all men. This time there was evidence of her crime and she was arrested. She was sent to jail...but then to an asylum for the criminally insane after she killed two inmates who made fun of her legs' scars. And so the abuse started again when they began torturing her with various treatments to get her to speak and 'be normal' ranging from electro-shock therapy, hydro-therapy (dunking you in a tank of freezing water and locking a lid on top of you so you can't breath and can't get out then leave you in there for sometimes an hour at a time), various operations (while still conscious without any morphine), straight-jackets, you name it. The metal muzzle was something from the asylum that was locked around her mouth because she used to bite people who got too close to her face.

After shit hit the fan with the release of the parasites and the world gone into a panic, Ferus escaped when she accidentally activated her symbiote for the first time during her last operation...because they found the parasite in her neck at last and tried to remove it, and of course that made the parasite so angry and scared that it sunk deeper into her neck and latched onto her spinal cord...which caused Ferus extreme agonising pain which triggered the transformation. Ferus esaped the asylum during all the madness and took to living on the streets as a stray for a while, until she came to find a secret garden which she then started to guard and keep hidden from humans and the infected. Why? Because it is one of the last unpolluted spots of land left on the planet, and she knows that if Tamed or Global co. found it they'd destroy it, or if Harmony found it they might try to move into it or visit it thus risk polluting it with their parasites (not even Ferus herself dares step into the garden because of the risk of doing so, she is still leaving the base from time to time to continue caring for and protecting the garden). She still wears the muzzle and carries her shield as reminders of how cruel the world is. Later she is discovered by Lavvy and her friends. Deciding she was too dangerous to leave out on the streets and seemed like Cadence was close to dying, they brought her to the base. The rest from there is a LONG story...

Parasite name: Rabies
Origin: Was extracted from a fossil recovered from a museum which was destroyed in a massive flood, was later turned into a stone-like state or 'fossilized' for transportation to a bigger research facility but when the delivery-truck got into a traffic accident on the way there, the side of the truck's cargo holder tore and many of the dormant parasites fell out including Rabies. Rabies was one of the very first parasites to escape.
The Infection: During her highschool's field-trip to a museum of natural history Cadence found a pretty stone (Rabies in its dormant state) in the sewer drain behind the museum when she went out to look for her bag that the girls had stolen and thrown in the trash. Thinking it was a Tiger's Eye (a type of gemstone said to ward off danger), she took the stone home and made it into a necklace, but when she went to school the next morning the girls saw the necklace and tried to snatch it off of her...that's when Rabies woke up, sunk into Cadence's skin and crawled to the safety of her spine behind her neck under her hair where the bully's hands couldn't get it. It of course grossed everybody out and put Cadence in a panic...especially when she then grew tiny saberteeth. It scared the bullies at first and they ran off, but then word started spreading of her new teeth and soon the bullying started again as they gave her new nicknames like 'vampire fat', 'Count Dorkula', and worse 'Warlus girl'...she was so ashamed that she never ate at school and she never ever showed her mouth again, she started hiding it under her shirt's collar or a high scarf or white surgeon's mask. This contributed to her extreme weight loss as she refused to eat at school and in front of her family, and the voices of the parasite are the reason why she went as far as burning down the entire school with kids still inside (Rabies encouraged Cadence to get revenge), and the reason why she was hospitalized in an insane asylum instead of just being given more prison-time (they thought she was a murderer with severe Schizophrenia and split-personality syndrome).
Personality: Rabies ain't called Rabies for nothing. His temper and violence when provoked is worse than Ferus! However despite the size of his parasitic form and his raw strength when combined with Ferus in symbiote mode, he is pretty laid-back, he's so placid that he doesn't even mind it if the youngest Harmony members ride him and use him like a horse, and he's incredibly...lazy. So lazy in fact, that unlike most parasites, Rabies DOESN'T argue for control over Ferus' body at all. Instead he and Ferus have a little 'deal' between them; since Ferus still has that problem of being scared to eat in front of people from childhood, and Rabies is such a huge glutton that takes pleasure in gulping down anything that touches his tongue (NOTE: never hand-feed Rabies or let him lick your face, or else you might be accidentally sucked into his gigantic mouth along with the food); Ferus allows Rabies to take over her body just for the social meal-times, it's a win-win situation for those two. And also for when Ferus wants to sleep, since she doesn't trust people and both she and Rabies love sleep-ins and hate being disturbed, so nobody dares to even think about waking up a cranky Mesonychid. So at the end of the day Rabies would rather let her do all the work. However there is ONE little thing that does get the two arguing about; mating. Being originally a male Andrewsarchus, his sex-drive is far greater than a females, making him one very horny pervy bastard. He'll suddenly try and force Ferus into submission every time a hotty (no matter what gender due to his host being female) walks by, but this is the one thing Ferus won't tolerate from him. Not that Ferus is a prude, in fact she's all up for a fling despite her hate for men (one man used her, so now she uses men in turn, breaking their hearts and or their balls on purpose), but obviously she'd much rather mate in human form (one major reason is because she doesn't want a repeat of last time when Rabies was in parasitic form and nearly crushed a female member of an enemy street-gang to death with his shere weight when he tried to mount the poor girl-thug, during what was supposed to be just a turf-war...Ferus definitely wants to avoid a repeat of that as all costs...)
