@00:10Save it as a WMV (Windows Media Video) and make sure it has as little file-space as possible e.g. this video is only 8 megabytes, AVI files that are too big will either take hours to load up or won't load up at all.

YES! See? a long snout DOESN'T restrict jaw-movement (speaking to those who kept bringing it up in the comments of parts 3 to 5 of the mask's WIP) and in fact it opens up pretty wide! I am so stoked on this achievement since my first mask's moving-jaw attempt failed miserably! :w00t:

I only tested the mask out with some plain rubber-bands on the hinges, I'm gonna add all the proper elastic later in the week. I plan to attempt a raising-lip mechanism too...but first I will need to see if there will be enough room to install the wire for it, otherwise it won't fit on my face or will cause discomfort on my face if there's no room for the wire.

...and I have only just realised that I'm wearing a wolf t-shirt. Damn it makes me look so nerdy. ^^; (My ex-bf bought me it but now I just wear it when slobbing around the house or when I'm doing some really messy artwork like painting and gluing and working with latex etc.)

I shall also be adding photos of the Mask's new jawset (courtesy of :icontwistedterrace: who made the jawset for me) close up too later on or tomorrow if I have time. :D

@00:12I LOVE the great huge teeth here, so many costumes have jawsets that are not much bigger than an actual wolf's in spite of the massive size change having to put a wolf head over a human braincase. I have a monster character I have a resin blank for...now I feel inspired to actually try sculpting the big teeth I envision going in it!

@00:12Yes a lot of people didn't think my mask's jaws would work with an uncut jawset, ^^ so I took this video as proof that they were 100% wrong. :iconimfabulousplz: Also a couple of people also thought the jawset made it not look like a wolf...but that's what annoys me when people think I want it to look like a wolf, because I don't; all I want is for it to look scary and life-like (which, not to pat myself on back or anything, I personally think I achieved). It's a werewolf, not a wolf, and that's why I wanted a monster jawset for it. Besides, last time I went for a 'normal' jawset...well, things did not turn out well for my mask or my bank account. fav.me/d68fhwn
But :icontwistedterrace: aka :iconkyramckinley: made the jawset for me, so this mask would not have been completed without her. :)

@00:12Someone wanted it to look like a wolf? >_< It's a werewolf, it doesn't NEED to look much like a wolf, they're monsters. Anthropomorphic wolves suck as werewolves. And thanks fur the mention hurr! <3

@00:12Amen to that, sister. There are many werewolves in countless different cultures around the world, and yes I know not all of them are evil in some cultures, but the european werewolves (apart from the Wulver and the Bisclavret) are nortorious monsters particularly British werewolves, and since I'm British and the movie's set in Britain it's only natural and common sense that my werewolf also be of British culture thus also be monstrous. sephirothsmugplz

Hey, thank me by giving me mentions too when I send those mask-blanks to you. ;)

Eeeeeh it came out so perfectly!!! :DDDD How DID you get the jaw to work that wonderfully? Where did you attach the rubber bands/elastic?

lol I just put a couple of rubber-bands on the hinges to test the jaw out. XD

Of course the rubber bands aren't going to actually be what holds the mask together, I will be using proper fabric elastic in the appropriate places, this was just to test the jaw movement with my own jaw.

I never seem to have that good of luck with jaw movement when I just attach the elastic to the hinges, I always have to make them at a weird angle or the whole mouth just either sags down or it hardly opens at all, because it seems to be either too loose or too tight most of the time...ugh it's annoying.

the trick is to get two rubber bands that are the same size and thickness, if you rush and grab random bands ending up with one bigger and thinner than the other then of course one side of the mouth is going to sag downward.

That's not what I mean, but I have had that issue before, somehow I manage to make the elastic at different strengths :/ What I mean is that like the end where the canines are sags down because the elastic is all the way in the back and like won't pull up the front or something? I end up having to place the elastic underneath and far foward, and at like a 45 degree angle just to pull the jaw all the way back up, but then it's really easy to see the elastic if you look in the mouth :/

Ah, I originally had that problem, but I just moved the bands further forward on the hinges and tightened them.
To hide the elastic in the mouth I'd suggest using black-elastic and giving the mask fur-cheeks like you would non-snarling masks (shadows of the cheeks should better hide black elastic).

Very cool. I have been impressed with the change in fur-suiting, allowing for mouth movements. If you think that you can also construct an upper lip
mechanism, how would you actuate it? Also, are you talking about front upper lip, or a method of snarling?

Just following :icontwistedterrace:'s tutorial for the lip. [link] ^^; but only if I have enough room in the mask for the wire of course.

Thanks. ^^ Well I had worries about it (lots of worries) before and when I got the new jawset due to the old jawset being too small and actually faulty to say it came from the supposedly professional carnefx and the new jawset being too big for the bottom jaw of the mask, so I solved the problem by sawing off half of the lower jaw leaving only the chin-rest still attached and just turned the whole bottom part of the new jawset into the full jaw reinforced with some hard foam.

Actually you've just given me an idea...I COULD make an Andrewsarchus mask, the snout's long enough and it looks longer without any cheeks to hide the back molars; so if I make a duplicate, add spotted/striped tan fur but not fur-over the cheeks, and give it small round ears, it would easily look like an Andrewsarchus. Now that would be a 'must-buy' for costumers who want a prehistoric character.
